What We Do
How does Hello Refi protect my personal information?
To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures may include computer safeguards, secured files and buildings, access controls, encryption, monitoring, employee training, vendor oversight, and other administrative, technical, and physical safeguards.
We restrict access to personal information to employees, service providers, and other parties who need the information to provide products or services, support our operations, comply with law, or perform other permitted business purposes.
How does Hello Refi collect my personal information?
We collect your personal information, for example, when you:
- apply for auto refinancing or other financial products or services;
- provide contact, income, employment, vehicle, loan, payoff, or lienholder information;
- authorize us or our lending partners to obtain credit information;
- communicate with us by phone, SMS, email, chat, AI agent, website, or other channels;
- use our website, online forms, portals, calculators, or digital tools;
- provide documents or information to support an application or transaction.
We also collect your personal information from others, such as:
- credit reporting agencies;
- lending partners, including credit unions, banks, and finance companies;
- identity-verification and fraud-prevention providers;
- current or prior lenders, creditors, servicers, lienholders, or payoff sources;
- service providers;
- marketing partners, lead sources, referral partners, and affiliates;
- public records and government sources.
Why can’t I limit all sharing?
Federal law gives you the right to limit only:
- sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes — information about your creditworthiness;
- affiliates from using your information to market to you;
- sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you.
State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.
What happens when I limit sharing for an account or application I hold jointly with someone else?
Your choices will apply only to you unless you tell us otherwise.

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.
Nonaffiliates we share with may include: credit unions; banks; finance companies; lending partners; credit reporting agencies; identity-verification and fraud-prevention providers; loan-processing and document-service providers; payment, technology, communication, analytics, and customer-service providers; regulators, law enforcement, courts, and other governmental authorities where required or permitted by law.
Hello Refi does not share personal information with nonaffiliates for their own marketing purposes.
Joint Marketing
A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
Our joint marketing partners may include: credit unions; banks; finance companies; lending partners; insurance or ancillary product providers, if applicable.
Other Important Information
State Privacy Rights
You may have additional privacy rights under state law. Depending on your state of residence and the type of information involved, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses or disclosures of personal information.
Some information we collect, use, and disclose may be exempt from certain state privacy laws because it is subject to federal financial privacy laws, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act or the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Credit Information and Credit Reporting
In connection with your application, inquiry, or transaction, we or our lending partners may obtain credit reports or other credit-related information where authorized or permitted by law. Credit information may be used to verify identity, evaluate eligibility, match you with lending partners, facilitate loan offers, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
Any required credit-report authorization or adverse-action notice will be provided separately where required by law.
For Vermont Residents
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal financial information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.
